Best picks for gifts
Only products we already rate as a buy, and who each one suits:
- Festival in a Box: Atlanta 2026 (Oct 19, 2026): for a Commander playgroup that wants a chaos-draft night: the $249.99 Festival in a Box is the only way to get a Mystery Booster Commander box (limit 2, while supplies last, so it may sell out before the holidays).
- MTG Star Trek (Nov 13, 2026): for Star Trek fans and anyone who drafts with friends: a Bundle ($69.99 MSRP) or a few Play Boosters, not sealed boxes bought to speculate on.
- Star Trek Commander Decks (Nov 13, 2026): for Commander players, especially Trek fans: a regular $74.99 deck is ready to play out of the box (skip the marked-up Collector's Editions).

Price: Festival in a Box: Atlanta 2026 (only way to buy; includes the MBC box): $249.99
Verdict: Buy First wide release, but only as part of Festival in a Box: Atlanta 2026 ($249.99, per Wizards): a 24-booster box plus the Secret Gallery: Atlanta foil drop and 4 promos. Cards become Commander-legal Nov 13. Buy if you want a Commander chaos draft night; skip if you only want singles. The box is $50 more than the Amsterdam 2026 one.
Festival in a Box: Atlanta 2026 (Secret Gallery: Atlanta Foil Edition)
Date: Oct 19, 2026
Price: Festival in a Box: Atlanta 2026: $249.99
Verdict: Buy Wizards confirmed it: $249.99 gets a Mystery Booster Commander Edition box, the 4-card Secret Gallery: Atlanta foil drop (Parallax Tide, Regrowth, Viridian Revel, Assassin's Trophy) and 4 promos. The Secret Gallery cards are modest singles, so you're really paying for the MBC box. Buy for the draft experience; skip if you're chasing value.
Reality Fracture Secret Lair Bundle
Date: Oct 23, 2026
Price: Reality Fracture Secret Lair Bundle (MSRP): $89.99
Verdict: Wait The first Secret Lair Bundle: 6 Play Boosters, 2 Collector Boosters, 2 of 10 traditional foil Secret Lair promos, 20 foil tower basics and a Spindown, at an official $89.99 MSRP (Wizards). Release is Oct 23 per Wizards' WPN notice, with delays possible in some regions. Pre-release retailer listings ran well above MSRP ($159.99–$189.99), so don't overpay: wait for MSRP stock unless you love the Secret Lair mythic art.
November 2026
Countdown Kit: Secret Lair: Marvel's History of Heroes
Date: Nov 2, 2026
Price: Countdown Kit: $199.99
Verdict: Wait 30 Marvel-art cards for $199.99 (about $6.67 a card), on sale Nov 2 at MagicSecretLair.com in limited quantity. Wizards revealed the full list on Oct 16: mostly reprints (Fierce Guardianship, Force of Virtue, Opposition Agent, Snuff Out, Damn, Lightning Bolt) plus 2 early Darkhold Destiny uncommons. Price out the singles you'd actually play. Wait unless you're a Marvel collector.
Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek
Date: Nov 13, 2026

The Zeta Set re-release
Date: Dec 9, 2026

Announced, no date yet
Announced but not yet scheduled, so these may or may not land before the end of 2026.
Secret Lair Drop Series: Marvel: Doomsdrop
Date: TBA
Price: TBA
Verdict: Wait Teased at NYCC 2026 (Marvel's Oct 9 announcement) as a drop that will 'predominantly feature' Doctor Doom with other Marvel guests; the Secret Lair storefront lists it as Coming Soon. No official date, price or card list yet (we used to list Nov 9; nothing official supports that date). Wait.
Secret Lair: 怪異学校 — Strange School (Reality Fracture)
Date: TBA
Price: Non-foil: $29.99; Foil: $39.99
Verdict: Wait 5 mono-black reprints (Attrition, Bitter Ordeal, Ophiomancer, Sign in Blood, Soul Spike) with black-and-white horror-manga art. Announced Oct 13, 2026; Wizards says it launches in the Chaos Vault 'soon', with no date yet. All reprints, no new cards. Wait for the date and price out the singles.
Secret Lair: Duality Distorted (Reality Fracture)
Date: TBA
Price: Non-foil: $29.99; Foil: $39.99
Verdict: Wait 4 retro-frame reprints (Thoughtseize, Desperate Ritual, Pyroblast, Tribute to the World Tree), each by an artist reimagining one of their earlier pieces. Announced Oct 13, 2026; Wizards says it launches in the Chaos Vault 'soon', with no date yet. All reprints, no new cards. Wait for the date and price out the singles.
Chaos Vault: Reality Fracture Secret Lair Bundle Bundles
Date: TBA
Price: Non-Foil Edition: $159.98; Foil Edition: $179.98; Everything Edition: $234.99
Verdict: Skip Three Chaos Vault packages, each a Reality Fracture Secret Lair Bundle plus the Strange School and Duality Distorted drops: $159.98 non-foil, $179.98 foil, $234.99 for both editions. Our math: the $89.99 bundle MSRP plus the drops at $29.99/$39.99 comes to $149.97, $169.97 and $229.95, so these packages cost $5 to $10 more than buying everything separately at list price. Skip unless the bundle is hard to find at MSRP. Wait for the date.
